DIAMONDS ON THE FLOOR
In a world where chaos seems to dominate our minds and our physical well-being on a daily basis, I’ve found myself carrying an unrelenting sense of anger and heartbreak.I wrote this song to express what it feels like to stand on the edge of financial stability — to exist as a creator whose opportunities often come down to the luck of the draw in the so-called American pursuit of happiness.I’ve had to climb the ladder with nothing and make something of it. And because of that, I hold deep respect for those who keep the world moving — the people who rise up with their communities when things get hard. But lately, it feels like we’re caught in a cycle of repeating mistakes. When life gets rough, too many of us act against our own interests. We do it with our votes, with our silence, and with the ways we uphold those whose power and wealth convince us that their success entitles them to do whatever they want — no matter what it costs the rest of us.“Diamonds on the Floor” is my reflection on this moment — on our political climate, on the oligarchs inside the people’s house, and on the disbelief so many of us feel as we watch the dominoes fall. It’s that sense of standing still, trying to find light in the dark.
This song is my small act of resistance in a world that keeps normalizing what should never be considered normal ~ Noelle
